Dulany Dining Hall Access Policy

Purpose

Columbia College is committed to offering a wide variety of healthy and quality food and beverage option on-campus at Dulany Dining Hall. This policy sets forth the guidelines for access to Dulany Dining Hall and is designed to balance access with the practical and commonsense considerations to help ensure safety of students, faculty, employees, invited guests and the facilities.

Scope

This policy applies to all members of the College community (students, faculty, staff, visitors, guests, etc.) and any individual(s) who wish to access the on-campus dining facilities at Dulany Dining Hall.

Policy

Access

Current students, faculty, staff and invited guests are able to access Dulany Dining Hall consistent with this policy during normal hours of operation.  All other individuals must make prior arrangements for access to Dulany Dining Hall with the Plant and Facilities Operations Department located in St. Clair Hall 4. The College reserves the right to approve or deny access at its sole discretion.

Current students, faculty, staff and invited guests must present a valid College identification card or an equivalent College issued means of verifying their ability to access Dulany Dining Hall.  Individuals who do not present a College identification card or an equivalent College issued means of verifying their ability to access Dulany Dining Hall may be denied access until they are able to present acceptable confirmation of their ability to access Dulany Dining Hall.

Misuse or Misappropriation of Dining Services

The security of the Dulany Dining Hall is a shared responsibility of all members of the College community.  Therefore, College community members’ improper use of their College identification card, allowing unauthorized persons into Dulany Dining Hall or attempts to circumvent this policy are acts in violation of this policy and are subject to potential disciplinary action and/or revocation of Dulany Dining Hall access privileges.  

Conduct

Dulany Dining Hall serves as an important social center at the College and is a place on campus where all members of the College community should feel comfortable and welcome.  Accordingly, in addition to the standard behavior and conduct expectations for students and employees, behavior and conduct that is disruptive of others’ use of Dulany Dining Hall is prohibited.  The College reserves the right to remove access of any individual(s) for conduct that is not in the best interest of the College. 

Camps, Groups, Tours, Special Events, Etc.

Prior arrangements may be made for the use of and access to Dulany Dining Hall by contacting the Plant and Facilities Operations Department in St. Clair Hall 4.  This includes use and access for approved College camps, groups, tours, special events, and similar occasions.
