Residence Hall Duty System Policy

The purpose of this policy is to outline the “on duty” policy for residence halls and procedures for contacting the necessary staff.

This policy applies to all traditional campus students residing in residence halls at Columbia College.

Residential Life provides an “on duty” system for the residence halls. Residents should call (573) 875-7402 at any time during the day or night to make contact with a staff member who can provide assistance.

Upon calling the Residential Life Duty Telephone, callers are directed to select from options 1-5 in order to reach a staff member for assistance:

  1. Campus Safety (for emergencies requiring immediate assistance 24 hours a day -students in immediate danger should call 911.)
  2. New Hall
  3. Miller Hall or Cougar Village
  4. Banks Hall
  5. Hughes Hall
