Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act

The Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act) is a federal law that promotes transparency regarding campus safety and security. Colleges and universities that participate in federal financial aid programs are required to publish information about certain crimes that occur on and around their campuses, as well as campus safety policies and procedures. 

Annual Security Report

The Annual Security Report (ASR) is more than a compliance document. It is a valuable resource designed to help students, employees, and visitors make informed decisions about their safety and security. The report contains important information, including:

  • Campus crime and fire statistics for the previous three years.
  • Information about campus safety, security, and fire safety policies.
  • Procedures for reporting crimes, emergencies, and suspicious activity.
  • Emergency response, notification, and evacuation procedures.
  • Policies, prevention programs, and resources related to sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking.

Crime Reporting

While the College prefers that community members promptly report all crime and other emergencies directly to Campus Safety (573) 875-7315 or 911, some individuals may prefer to report to another College Official.  The College has designated certain officials to serve as CSAs. Reports of criminal activity can be made to these individuals for the purpose of assessing the need for Timely Warnings and Emergency Notifications and for inclusion in the College’s annual statistical disclosure of crime statistics. Individuals are encouraged to report crimes and other safety concerns to any of the Campus Security Authorities listed below.
