Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA)

The Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA) is a career development and employment assistance program that  provides up to $4,000 (over two years) of financial assistance for military spouses who are pursuing degree programs, licenses or credentials leading to employment in portable career fields.

The Department of Defense (DoD) has made funds available through the Military Spouse Career Advancement Account program (MyCAA) to help pay for licenses, certifications and associate degrees in high-growth, high-demand portable career fields.

Columbia College is proud to be a participant in the MyCAA program.

MyCAA funds may be used in conjunction with the college's Military-Affiliated Benefit.

For specific details on the MyCAA program, refer to the official MyCAA website.

To apply or obtain more information, please visit the Military OneSource Portal.

Note: The MyCAA program does not include Coast Guard spouses.

Billing

You do not need to send in your paper authorization each session. Our Accounting Department will access the portal after the last day to drop classes has passed each session and electronically pull over the funds and apply them to your student account.

If you do not see that the funds have applied to your account after the third week of class, double check that you have selected the correct school on your portal and contact your Military One Source Counselor.  Also, make sure that the classes you registered for match the courses you have listed on the portal.

If you feel that MyCAA short-paid, check your Military One Source to see that you entered the correct tuition amount on your request. If there was an error in the amount entered please contact the Center for Student Success immediately as there is a limited time frame to make corrections. If not, please contact your Military One Source Counselor. Please note that MyCAA will only pay for lab fees if you listed the fee in your MyCAA application.
