(COLUMBIA, Mo.) -- Citing a desire to invest in education in the State of Missouri, the Citi Foundation recently provided a grant of $50,000 to the Missouri Colleges Fund (MCF), of which Columbia College is a member school.
The grant will underwrite a $3,125 Citi Outstanding Teachers scholarship at each of the 16 MCF member schools. Scholarships will be awarded by member schools on the basis of financial need.
"Columbia College is grateful to the Citi Foundation and the Missouri Colleges Fund for this gift," said Dr. Gerald Brouder, president. "This contribution recognizes the importance of education and the significant impact that an educated workforce has on Missouri's economy."
Formed in 1952, the MCF is a non-profit corporation whose mission is to acquire resources to help educate students in private liberal-arts colleges and universities.
