Columbia College-Rolla students receive national distinction

(ROLLA, Mo.)-Four Columbia College-Rolla students recently were named to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

Students receiving the distinction include: Christina Brinkly, a senior criminal justice major from Rolla; Tommy Burges, a senior psychology major from St. James; Patricia Ragan, a senior computer information systems major from Salem; and Dawn Scott, a senior business administration major from Rolla.

"We're excited to have four outstanding students from the Rolla campus receive this national designation," said Rolla Campus Director Leasa Richards-Mealy.

Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges recognizes students for their academic accomplishments and scholastic contributions. A total of 19 Columbia College students received the honor for the 2005-2006 academic year. To be eligible, students must be a Columbia College junior or senior with a GPA of 3.3 or higher and be nominated by a faculty or staff member.

Columbia College-Rolla, part of Columbia College's network of more than 30 Nationwide Campuses, was established in Rolla in 1992 and continues to serve working adult learners in the area.

Columbia College serves nearly 25,000 students at its Day Campus, Evening Campus, Graduate Program, Online Campus and more than 30 Nationwide Campuses.
