Paul Gill, Reporting Analyst
Gill has an extensive background in business, financial accounting and information technology. Prior to Columbia College, he was involved in the development and maintenance of mission-critical enterprise application software utilizing Sybase technologies.
Gill holds a bachelor's degree in Law.
Shonda Ireland, Director
Ireland came to the Institutional Research Department in August 2011, after two and a half years in the Columbia College Enrollment Management Department. In September 2012, she accepted the Communications Specialist position with responsibility for college surveys; assisting with state data requests; and maintenance of the Institutional Research website, as well as creation and maintenance of the college dashboards. Ireland was promoted to Director of Institutional Research in 2017, and now oversees the day-to-day functions of the IR office, in addition to all external requests. Ireland received certification as a LEAN yellow belt. Prior to Columbia College, she was employed at a law firm as a law clerk and, later, as a licensed attorney in general civil practice. Her past roles have included training, purchasing and inventory, editing, legal research and grant writing.
Ireland graduated from the University of Missouri in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in both Psychology and Sociology and received her Juris Doctorate in 2007, also from the university, as well as an MBA with a focus in Human Resource Management from Columbia College in July 2014.
Jiyoon Kim, Research Statistician
Jiyoon worked in a procurement team at STX, a shipbuilding company in South Korea. Her past role was to source foreign materials and manage purchase order data. After that, she studied statistics at the University of Missouri-Columbia and became a research statistician in the Office of Institutional Research, where she oversees internal surveys, facilitates external surveys to the college and provides statistical analysis on college data.
Jiyoon graduated from Kyungpook National University in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in statistics and business administration. She received a master's degree in statistics from the University of Missouri-Columbia in May 2015.
Kelly Sharp, Communications Analyst
Sharp joined the Office of Institutional Research in May 2018 after working more than 14 years in the Office of the Registrar at Columbia College. In her positions at CC, she has had the opportunity to work with a variety of offices and departments and has built a successful working relationship that will serve her well in her new position completing external data requests, including state and federal requests, and assisting with facilitating trainings for Webfocus users. She has also been an adjunct professor for the Math Department, teaching Intermediate Algebra for the traditional campus.
Sharp graduated from Moberly Area Community College with an Associate of Applied Science in Accounting. Sharp went on to complete a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics as well as a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Accounting in 2005 from Columbia College. She also completed her Master of Business Administration – Accounting Track in 2014 at Columbia College.
Jeremy Simkins, Reporting Analyst
Simkins' experience with the Office of Institutional Research began in 2017 as a student worker. In 2018, he moved to the temporary position of Business Analyst and then to the current position of Reporting Analyst. Before these positions, he worked as a site supervisor for an employment services organization assisting adults with disabilities. He also has experience as a care assistant with a particular interest in facilitating the use of assistive technology.
Rebecca Windle, Projects Coordinator
Windles's roots run deep at Columbia College. From 2004-2007, she worked at the Jefferson City location. In 2011, she held a temporary position in Institutional Compliance, and, in 2017, she joined the college again in the Institutional Research Department. Rebecca's prior position was with Turnkey Technologies, where she was a CRM Functional Consultant for Microsoft's Dynamics CRM. In this role, she advised clients on best business practices, configured software to meet their needs, performed gap analysis, suggested and established more efficient processes, coordinated and participated in software upgrades and worked with their marketing department to ensure email materials were distributed to target audiences on time.
Windle graduated from Columbia College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2010 and went on to earn her MBA with an emphasis in Human Resource Management in 2015. She holds two Microsoft Dynamics certifications, is Click Dimensions certified and is actively pursuing additional certifications in WebFocus.
Ben Wood, Reporting Analyst
Wood began working at Columbia College in January 2015 in the Office of Academic Assessment as an academic assessment specialist, moving over to his current role as Reporting Analyst in the Office of Institutional Research in July 2017. Prior to joining Columbia College, Ben worked as database manager for the Lincoln University Education Department in Jefferson City, Missouri, and as a student worker for the Office of Social and Economic Data Analysis (OSEDA) at the University of Missouri.
Wood received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Missouri in 2009.
