Ingram’s ranks Columbia College its No. 2 private college
Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Ingram’s, Kansas City's leading business magazine, ranked Columbia College its No. 2 of “Top Private Colleges & Universities” in the September 2009 issue. The list ranks 25 private colleges and universities in the greater Kansas City metro area.

“Columbia College is honored to be included in this list by one of the region's top business publications,” said Dr. Gerald Brouder, president of Columbia College. “The inclusion in the magazine allows for us to stay top-of-mind with constituents and the community not only in Columbia but in the Missouri region.”

The ranking is based on fall 2008 undergraduate enrollment. To determine Columbia College's ranking, Ingram's factored in undergraduate per credit tuition hour costs well below that of its competitors; the college's outstanding 14:1 student-to-teacher ratio; basic housing per semester costs; and by fiscal stability, as measured by annual operating budget and endowment.

Columbia College, a private, nonprofit institution founded in 1851 in Columbia, Mo., educates more than 27,000 students each year and has more than 64,000 alumni worldwide. For more information, visit
