Fort Leonard Wood is located in the south central Ozark region of Missouri, 75 miles east of Springfield and 158 miles west of St. Louis on Interstate 44 and historic Route 66. The fort is approximately 30 minutes driving time from both Lebanon and Rolla, Missouri.

From Jefferson City, Columbia and parts north:
Come South on Highway 63 and Highway 28. Turn West on I-44 for 2 miles to Exit # 161
OR
Come South on Highway 54 and Highway 17 to Waynesville. Turn East on Business Route 44 for 3 miles into St. Robert.

From Rolla, St. Louis and parts east:
Go West on I-44 to Exit # 161.

From Lebanon, Springfield and parts west:
Go East on I-44 to Exit # 161.

Turn South on Spur 44. This will lead into Ft. Leonard Wood and become Missouri Avenue. After entering the Ft. Leonard Wood gate (driver's license, state vehicle registration and proof of insurance required) go straight through three traffic lights. (Missouri Avenue will become Constitution Avenue.) The Truman Education Center will be on left hand side just past Joint Services Park (with the Tank, Plane, Ship's Anchor, etc.) Columbia College will be in room # 14.
