Shari Lawson, Assistant Professor of Education, has an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Saint Louis University. Her most recent research focuses on the preparation of school leaders to lead Social Emotional Learning in their schools. Her focus is on creating collaborative learning communities to prepare future teachers and school leaders.
Prior to joining the faculty at Columbia College, Dr. Lawson worked with elementary school students in public PK-6 schools. For a few years at the start of her career, she taught in the Jennings School District in St. Louis. Most recently, she worked in the Columbia Public Schools. Dr. Lawson has been an elementary school principal and a teacher for children in grades 2-5.
