Dr. Gentry graduated from Truman State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Dr. Gentry was granted her Master of Science in Nursing degree and Ph.D. in Educational, School, and Counseling Psychology with a focus on Health Education and Promotion from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Dr. Gentry is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honorary.
Dr. Gentry has been faculty at Columbia College since 2004, developing curriculum and teaching in the ASN, BSN, and RN to BSN programs. She has served Columbia College as Director and Department Chair of the Nursing Department, Coordinator of the Lake Location Nursing Program, Faculty Association President, and is a tenured professor. Prior to Columbia College, she taught for over 15 years in the Columbia Public Schools Program of Practical Nursing.
Over the years, Dr. Gentry gained experience in nursing practice through employment at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, and University of Missouri Health Care. She specialized in critical care, adult health, oncology, and research.
Dr. Gentry is the mother of two sons. Both are graduates of Columbia College. The joy of her life are her sons and daughters-in-law, and being “BELLA” (Grandma) to four lovely grandchildren.
