Dr. Janet Pestle began teaching in the Columbia College Nursing Department in August 2024. She received both a BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) and MSN (Master of Science in Nursing) from the University of Missouri – Sinclair School of Nursing. She also holds a DNP (Doctorate of Nursing Practice) in Executive Nursing from American Sentinel University. Dr. Pestle practiced in hospital environments for 35+ years. Her clinical background specialized in Critical Care Nursing (ICU). The majority of her career was spent in leadership and management roles; including Chief Nurse Officer and Vice President of Patient Care.
Dr. Pestle has served on several school and committee boards in the advancement of the nursing profession. She has now turned her attention to teaching and consulting others in nursing practice. She is uniquely interested in population health, quality, and safety.
