Dr. Robinson is a former early childhood teacher who worked primarily with children ages two to six years old. She specializes in early childhood education, reading and literacy education, and human development. She has taught a range of undergraduate and graduate elementary, early childhood, and child development courses. Her research agenda focuses on literacy teaching and learning in early childhood and textual analysis of children’s literature.
Dr. Robinson believes in the transformational power of education to create a more just world. She is an advocate for infusing authentic diverse children’s literature into the curriculum. She would like to learn more about culturally sustaining pedagogies and family literacy, particularly among those who are culturally and linguistically diverse.
Dr. Robinson enjoys reading and writing for entertainment, time with family and friends, as well as spending time with her dogs outdoors.
