Thursday, April 09, 2009

(COLUMBIA, Mo.) -- Dr. Susan Quigley-Duggan will present a soprano voice recital at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 18 in Dorsey Chapel at Columbia College.

Quigley-Duggan, soprano voice professor at Central Methodist University, will be accompanied by Dr. Barbara Hamel on the piano. Two other faculty members, John Perkins and Dori Waggoner, will offer trumpet and flute accompaniment.

The multinational performance includes pieces by Scarlatti (Italian); Handel, Mahler and Schumann (German); Poulenc and Saint-Saens (French) and Sir Henry Bishop (English).

Nollie Moore, Columbia College music faculty and director of the Jane Froman Singers, presented a recital at Central Methodist in February.

"We're excited to have Dr. Quigley-Duggan and other CMU faculty on campus to present this recital," said Moore. "The recital exchange program allows a greater number of students, staff and community members to experience a variety of musical talent."
