Paula Garfias, MSN, CMSRN, RN, graduated from Santa Ana College in Santa Ana California with an Associate Degree in Nursing, and her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University in Minneapolis Minnesota.
Her practice areas over the years has been telemetry, intensive care unit, emergency department, interventional radiology, cardiology, radiation therapy, and most recently behavioral health. She continues to work prn as a behavioral health nurse at Saint Mary’s Hospital.
She has taught in a variety of programs since 2009 including Certified Nursing Assistant, Unlicensed Assistive Personnel, Licensed Practical Nurse, Associate in Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, as well as RN-BSN programs. She is a Certified Medical Surgical Nurse and Certified Nursing Assistant Instructor and Examiner. Currently, she is beginning her journey to complete a Doctorate in Nursing Practice.
She lives in Columbia with her husband Cesar and three boys Chris, Sean, and Cayden. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren Aubrielle and Connor, teaching Sunday school, being an active member of her church, reading, traveling, and taking courses to continually grow professionally.
