Dr. Michael Lyman
Dr. Michael Lyman has a professional background in police work with 11 years experience as a state police agent in the field of drug enforcement. Has also served the law enforcement community as a certified police trainer for the three years before coming to Columbia College. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Administration of Justice from Wichita State University and a Ph.D. in Higher and Adult Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Since 1987, Dr. Lyman has authored eight books dealing with the topics of policing, criminal investigation, drug trafficking and organized crime. He is a member of five professional organizations and was instrumental in the development of the College's Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science and the Master of Science in Criminal Justice programs. He also has testified in federal court in numerous cases throughout the country as a police practices expert.
