Minor in Beacon Secondary Speech/Theatre Certification
Earn a minor in high school speech and theatre education through our Beacon program while completing your bachelor’s degree.
This combination of speech, theatre and education courses is geared toward students on a path to teaching at the high school level – part of our Beacon program for students who wish to complete a bachelor’s degree in a content area while earning a minor in a teacher certification area.
Required courses explore speech and theatre as modes of public communication. Students can also explore interpersonal and intercultural communications.
On the professional education side, the required courses include advanced content methods and educational psychology – topics that ensure students are equipped for success in the secondary classroom.
