Service Learning in Jamaica

Join Dr. Sandy Hamar on this 8-day service learning trip to Falmouth. There you will help teach school age children, and contribute to service projects on the Falmouth campus. While this is a volunteer-focused trip, you will experience Jamaican culture and partake in some tourist attractions.

The Holocaust in Europe (2022)

Dr. Blake Nielsen will lead students through Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic as students learn about the psychological implications of the Holocaust. Some tourist and cultural experiences are also part of this experience. Successful completion of this trip along with the related courses will make the student eligible to waive one general education elective.

Nursing & Public Health in the Dominican Republic (2022)

Dr. Faye Fairchild will lead CC Nursing students to the Dominican Republic. Students will work with local healthcare providers and learn about the major public health issues impacting the DR. This experience is exclusively for students in our CC nursing programs. Some tourist attractions are included in this experience as well.

Missouri Study Abroad Intercollegiate Consortium (MOSAIC) 2022

Spend three to four weeks during the summer abroad through a MOSAIC program. MOSAIC is a consortium made up of multiple universities and colleges, including Columbia College. Earn six to nine credit hours through Maryville  University. Take classes with MOSAIC professors and host institutions.

You'll live in the heart of Oxford, within walking distance to all important sites and take two to three courses, including tutorial or creative writing course with an Oxford Don (professor). Courses will be available in health professions, social sciences, humanities, education and science. There will be several excursions to London, plus to Windsor Castle, Blenheim Castle and Stratford-on-Avon.

The 2020 cost for six credits is $5,745 + airfare ($1,500 estimated); three additional credits for $750. The rate for 2021 is being determined.

Course lists subject to change (in the past, approximately 90 percent of courses have made enrollment). There may be a processing fee, as well.

Oxford course list

The program begins with a four-day excursion to Amalfi Coast, Mt. Vesuvius and Pompeii, island of Capri and ends with an optional three-day end-of-trip excursion to Rome. There will be excursions throughout Florence, to Venice and to the medieval city of Siena. You'll live in the heart of Florence, within walking distance to all important sites, and take two or three courses in art-related, social science, humanities, science and education fields.

The 2020 total cost for six credits is $5,400 + airfare ($1,400 estimated); three additional credits for $750. Rates for 2021 are being determined.

You'll live in the heart of the world's most cosmopolitan city, close to all important sites and be able to take business, art, architecture and humanities courses.
