Cory Prasch started her career in the healthcare field in 2002 as a CNA and psych tech, proceeding to an LPN in 2005. She worked as a staff nurse on a medical/surgical unit and then worked in home health care as a pediatric nurse. She took a slight detour from nursing and obtained a degree in Liberal Arts-Anthropology at the University of Missouri in 2007. The following year she came back to nursing and finished her BSN in 2009 from the Sinclair School of Nursing at the University of Missouri. She worked in public health at the Columbia Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services where she facilitated programs for Mid-MO. in Chronic Disease Self-Management, created a partnership with WIC teaching classes in infant/child safety, infant and child CPR/First aid, and breastfeeding, and was the lead nurse specialist for Boone County. She obtained her MSN in Nursing Education from Walden University in 2015 and taught in a CMA program through Bryan University. Currently she is finishing her practicum hours for lactation in order to become a Certified Lactation Consultant.

She started at Columbia College in 2019 as a part time clinical instructor and now holds a full-time faculty position as well as the Program Director for the CMA program. She has taught in the ASN and BSN programs.
