Attend an Overnight Visit to explore downtown Columbia, sleep in the residence halls, experience student life outside of the classroom and much more! Learn what it's really like to be a CC student by asking current students as they provide tours of campus and answer your questions.
Overnight Visits are designed for high school juniors and seniors who have applied or been accepted to Columbia College.
Before the event
Parents & Students must complete and sign the Overnight Visit release form in order to participate in the event. Submit your completed form to AdmissionsEvents@ccis.edu at least three days prior to the Overnight Visit. Contact the Admissions Office with any questions at (573) 875-7352.
Free parking will be available in our non-residential lots, located along Rangeline Street and the corner of 10th Street and Rogers Street. For more information, view this campus map or directions to campus.

Arrival & departure
Check-in opens at 3:00 p.m. in Brouder Science Center, McQuinn Atrium along Rangeline Street. Program begins at 3:30 p.m. Upon arrival, you will be given your schedule for your evening, an informational packet and a CC T-shirt. Be sure to bring your luggage, blankets, pillows and personal items with you to check-in.
Please plan to stay for the duration of the event. Check-out is open from 8:00 a.m.- 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
This is a student-only event. However, parents are welcome to stay on campus until 5:30 p.m. for a brief introduction to Columbia College and campus tour. Please let the Admissions staff know when you check-in if you'd like to take part in the parents' info session and tour. Parents are also welcome to join their students for breakfast in Dulany Cafeteria anytime between 8:00 a.m.- 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Attendees will take a walking tour of campus with Student Ambassadors, which will last approximately one hour. Your tour will include visits to the the residence halls, dining hall, athletic complex, classrooms and much more. Students will walk downtown for dinner, participate in an evening activity and stay overnight in the residence hall - all included in your $15 registration fee! The event ends with breakfast on Saturday morning before students leave campus by 10:00 a.m.
Suggested packing list
Once your RSVP has been received, you will receive more detailed information in your confirmation packet.
- Clothing for two days and appropriate sleep wear (jacket if cooler weather)
- Toiletries (shower essentials, towel, etc.)
- Personal care products (hair care, cosmetics, toothbrush, etc.)
- Sleeping bag, blanket and pillow (students will sleep on the floor of the res hall rooms)
- Medications and copy of insurance card
- Miscellaneous (phone charger, petty cash, earphones, etc.)
Your registration fee will cover the cost for dinner, snacks and breakfast in our dining hall and local restaurants. Please notify the Admissions Office if you have any dietary needs or restrictions at (573) 875-7352.
