For the sixth year in a row, Columbia College has been ranked in the top tier of "America's Best Colleges" by U.S. News & World Report. Columbia College is ranked 44th in the category of "Best Universities-Master's" for the Midwest Region. This category evaluates institutions that offer a broad scope of undergraduate degrees as well as some master's degrees and doctoral programs.
The report listed Columbia College as a “small community with great teachers and lasting friendships and a college that is serious about "educating the whole person. Academics are strong, grounded in the liberal arts and sciences and offered in a learning environment characterized by civility and respect”.
“We are pleased once again to be included on this list,” says Dr. Gerald Brouder, president of Columbia College. “It is a testament to our goal of offering students a strong academic program at an affordable rate.” Columbia College, a private, nonprofit institution founded in 1851 in Columbia, Mo., educates more than 27,000 students each year and has more than 61,000 alumni worldwide.
