The Game Dev 2.0 is an adept-level game design camp geared towards rising 6th-12th grade students with prior experience in basic coding. Campers will spend the day designing an 8-bit video game from the ground up, including creating pixel characters, objects, map tiles, sound effects, and background music.
The Game Dev 2.0 is an affiliate of the Columbia College Girls Who Game community. This community is dedicated to empowering young women in the gaming industry and providing them with the resources and support they need to succeed. By joining this community, campers will be able to connect with other like-minded individuals and gain access to exclusive resources and opportunities.
Campers will also have the opportunity to tour different areas of the Columbia College campus. This is a great way for campers to get a feel for the college atmosphere and explore the different departments and facilities available.
