Overnight Visit

Overnight Visit lets high school students experience life on campus.

Guests will explore campus, walk downtown and talk to students about what life at Columbia College is really like. Stay overnight in the residence halls for the full college experience.

Overnight Visits are designed for high school juniors and seniors who have applied or been accepted to Columbia College.

To RSVP, select an event date below, fill out the form and pay the $15 registration fee.

Event details

Prior to coming

Parents and students must complete and sign the Overnight Visit release form External linkin order to participate in the event. Submit your completed form to AdmissionsEvents@ccis.edu at least three days prior to the Overnight Visit. 

Parking

Free parking will be available in our non-residential lots, located along Rangeline Street and the corner of 10th Street and Rogers Street.

Arrival & departure

Check-in opens at 3 p.m. in Dulany Lee Room, Dulany Dining Hall along N. Eighth Street. The program begins at 3:30 p.m. Upon arrival, you will be given your schedule for your evening, and an informational packet. Be sure to bring your luggage, blankets, pillows and personal items with you to check-in.

Please plan to stay for the duration of the event. Check-out is open from 8 a.m.- 10 a.m. on Saturday.

This is a student-only event. However, parents are welcome to stay on campus until 5:30 p.m. for a brief introduction to Columbia College and campus tour. Please let the Admissions staff know when you check-in if you'd like to take part in the parents' info session and tour. Parents are also welcome to join their students for breakfast in Dulany Cafeteria anytime between 8 a.m.- 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Schedule

Attendees will take a walking tour of campus with Student Ambassadors, which will last approximately one hour. Your tour will include visits to the the residence halls, dining hall, athletic complex, classrooms and more. Students will walk downtown for dinner, participate in an evening activity and stay overnight in the residence hall. Everything is included in your $15 registration fee. The event ends with breakfast on Saturday morning before students leave campus by 10 a.m.

What to bring

Once your RSVP has been received, you will receive more detailed information in your confirmation packet.

  • Clothing for two days and appropriate sleep wear (jacket if cooler weather)
  • Toiletries (shower essentials, towel, etc.)
  • Personal care products (hair care, toothbrush, etc.)
  • Sleeping bag, blanket and pillow (students will sleep on the floor of the res hall rooms)
  • Medications and copy of insurance card
  • Miscellaneous (phone charger, petty cash, earphones, etc.)

Dining

Your registration fee will cover the cost for dinner, snacks and breakfast in our dining hall and local restaurants. If you have any dietary needs or restrictions, please notify the Admissions Office at (573) 875-7352.
