Accommodated Exams

Students with documented disabilities/conditions can receive various testing services upon registration and approval by the Student Accessibility Resource (SAR) office. Students must register with a SAR coordinator prior to contacting to receive accommodated testing. Accommodated exams should be scheduled with the Testing Center at least one week in advance. Required forms must be on file with the Testing Center at the time of scheduling.

Placement Testing

Columbia College uses placement testing to assess students' skills and their ability to meet pre-requisite requirements for courses in English and Math. These exams are offered online to all admitted Columbia College students at no cost.

The English Placement Test will provide scores to determine your placement in ENGL 107 or ENGL 133W. The Math Placement Test will provide scores to determine your placement in MATH 104, MATH 106, MATH 110, MATH 150, MATH 250. Contact the admissions office or your academic advisor to determine whether you need to take a placement exam.

You will have access to practice tests as well as the placement test. Practice tests may be taken as many times as needed. However, the placement tests may be taken only twice. Only the higher of the two scores will be recorded as the final score.

You will receive an email reporting your score and your placement. This email will be sent to your Cougarmail account, so be sure to check it after taking the test. Your scores will be recorded the day after taking the test. Please wait until your scores have been recorded before attempting to register.

Math/English placement exams are not given at the Testing Center. To enroll and access the exam select from the list below.
