Why did you choose Columbia College?
I first found out about Columbia College from the Advisor at the University Center of Lake County in Grayslake, Illinois. The main reason that I chose it was because of the Bachelor in General Studies that was offered as one of the degrees. I also admired the college for how it enrolls so many military personel and veterans.
What are your plans for the future?
I am now seeking a full time position in the areas of business and marketing. Besides the Bachelor degree I have earned a Marketing Management Certificate, and I will complete two more courses and earn a Management Certificate from Columbia. For many years I have been underemployed, and now I have the college background to seek a higher paying position.
What was your favorite course, and why?
Each online course I took so far has been wonderful. I've learned a lot, and have enjoyed my professors and classmates very much. Marketing Management (MKTG 478) with Professor Jeffrey Heilbrun was an amazing course. Thia professor is so dynamic and has a great sense of humor. We undergrads learned a lot and I will always remember it as one of the most exciting courses that I had the privilege to take. I also loved the Cross Cultural Management course (MGMT 339) with Professor Joe Kim. This was fascinating course material about how culture influences us. It has been a positively great learning experience. Currently I am taking Small Business Management (MGMT 341) with Professor Sean Siebert, and not only is he awesome, but the entire class is enthusiastic, personable, and engaging. Who could ask for more?! Simply put, I am glad that I made Columbia College my first choice, and I hope that my sons in the military as well as my daughter also make it their first choice as undergrads.
Is there anyone you would like to thank?
I want to thank the hard-working Admissions and Financial Aid staff at the main campus in Missouri, as well as my Advisor Peggy, and the friendly staff at the Great Lakes/Lake County campus who have all helped me along the way. I appreciate the support that I received and the encouragement to keep going through the rough spots and to reach my goal. Thank you, Columbia!!!
