Why did you choose Columbia College?
I chose Columbia because my sister in law had been raving about it for a year knowing I was interested in going back to school, but having no idea what type of degree to pursue. She found out that the human services program could be done completely online if needed so it would not interfere with my work and home schedule like sitting in a class on a particular night might and picked up a brochure to review. I was hooked immediately. I set out to gather transcripts, and made an appointment to speak with an advisor. Best moment in my educational life as an adult.
What are your plans for the future?
I plan on working with kids and adults who are having issues with life in general. Everyone needs someone to talk to. I want to be that person. I've also considered getting into pastoral counseling.
What was your favorite course, and why?
So far, I've enjoyed all of my classes. I have to say that I really had a great time in English 112 with Bruno Puetzer and in seat, as well as Stephen Calabrese. I've loved many of the online instructors: Blotevogel, McDaniel, S.Carney to name a few.
Is there anyone you would like to thank?
I would like to give a huge shout out to Corey Gasparini, an admin in my local campus. Everyone has been awesome, but she has bent over backwards time in and time out since I first contacted the school. She has become a friend to me for life.
