Why did you choose Columbia College?
After trying several on-line colleges while serving with the military; I found Columbia College to be the best in course selection, personalized service and technical reliability. I also received recommendations from several friends in the military who had previously taken courses with Columbia College.
What are your plans for the future?
I am currently retired after 30 years in the military. I would like to pursue a position with the Veteran's Administration hospital in Tampa Florida. I will apply to several positions but I would prefer a position in a military environment as that is what I have known for most of my life. Any position that I select will require adjustment; however I am sure the knowledge gained from my courses will help me succeed.
What was your favorite course, and why?
There were several courses that I enjoyed. My favorite would have to be Geology 110, followed closely by Cross-cultural management.
Geology really taught me a lot I didn't know about our Earth and environment. Topics such as the formation of the continents over time, and the use and misuse of natural resources which support our society were very interesting.
Cross-cultural management should be a mandatory course for any degree. It covers topics which will apply to everyone in the workplace regardless of position. The understanding of our diverse workforce by all employees is essential knowledge needed to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Is there anyone you would like to thank?
I would like to thank all my instructors for their knowledge and assistance, my classmates for their participation in the pursuit of my degree, and my family and friends for their support and encouragement over the years.
