What sets Columbia College apart from other schools offering an online MSCJ program?
- We are accredited.
Since 1998, Columbia College has offered a master in science in criminal justice. Our online MSCJ meets the same accreditation standards as our on-campus MSCJ.
Although every school may say it’s accredited, not all accreditations are created equal. Columbia College is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association, a federally approved organization that accredits 8,500 public and private schools. To learn more about accreditation, visit www.ed.gov.
- We are affordable.
You'll be pleased to know Columbia College offers one of the most affordable accredited MSCJ online programs in the country, especially for a private institution. That's because we are a not-for-profit college and our stakeholders are our students. Our tuition for the online MSCJ is $340 per credit hour.
Also, GetEducated.com, a respected clearinghouse of accredited online programs, designated Columbia College as a "Best Buy" for the college's online bachelor's degrees in criminal justice, psychology and sociology. Columbia College brings the same quality and value to the online MSCJ.
- We are a quality
institution.
The Princeton Review named Columbia College a "Best Midwestern College" based on academic quality and anonymous student surveys. Columbia College is also one of only 250 higher educational institutions in the U.S. to be named a "College of Distinction."
- We are flexible.
- Accelerated degree programs
- Sessions start in January, March, June, August and October. You can attend all five sessions a year or just one—it’s up to you
- All coursework is done online. Although courses will have weekly deadlines, you are not required to meet at specific times. You may be required to take a proctored exam at a location convenient to you.
- We accept nine transfer credit hours.
If you take just one course per session, you can graduate in about two years.
You could earn your degree even sooner if you have transfer credits. Columbia College accepts up to nine hours in transfer credits.

About the Online Campus
$340
per credit hour

Columbia College launched the Online Campus in 2000, and today we offer 23 online degrees and more than 800 online classes. Nearly 16,000 students take online classes at Columbia College each year.
Founded in 1851 as Christian Female College, the college changed its name to Columbia College in 1970 when it opened its doors to women and men. In 1973, the college was among the first schools in the country to provide educational opportunities geared specifically to working adults, including military students.
Today, the college serves nearly 25,000 students through its Day Campus, 34 Nationwide Campuses, Online Campus and Graduate Studies Program.
