Off-Campus Access to Online Databases
Due to database license agreements, access is limited to Columbia College students, faculty, and staff.
When you click on a database link on the Library Resources page you will be prompted for your eServices username and password. Simply type them in, click Submit, and you will go through to the resource. If you have not done so, you must first activate your eServices account in order to have access to the Library's online resources.
Questions or problems, contact the library by email, by phone in the Columbia area at (573) 875-7381, or through the toll-free number at (800) 231-2391 ext. 7381.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do I still need to configure my browser with a proxy code (port number) to
use the library resources?
NO! Not any more. With our new proxy software, having to set up your browser with a new port number each session is over! If you have never had to reconfigure your browser this change will not affect you.
- What happened to the proxy code?
The proxy server we had in the past required you to configure your browser. A number of library patrons had problems with this system due to security measures and Internet Service Providers that do not support this type of proxy service. With the new proxy there will be no need to configure your browser and almost any Internet connection will allow you through to the online resources you need for your course work.
- Should I contact the library when I have problems with eServices?
You should contact Technology Services for eServices questions.
- I have forgotten my ID/password.
