Nationwide Campus Scholarships

This is a general reference guide only. For detailed information regarding terms and conditions of scholarships and renewal criteria, please review the "Scholarships, Awards, and Grants" section of your academic catalog. Find your catalog on the Registrar website. Institutional scholarships listed apply to tuition only; combinations of scholarships and external assistance cannot exceed tuition or apply to other charges unless otherwise specified. Scholarships below are only available to undergraduate students unless specified.

The following scholarships are available to students who attend a Columbia College campus that is not located in Columbia, Mo. Some scholarships available to students at any of the nationwide campuses, or locate your campus in the chart below for campus-specific scholarships.

Associate Degree
Transfer Grant
5% of tuition Available to undergraduate students who have completed an Associate Degree within the past 12 months. The degree must consist of 60 credit hours or its equivalent. The Associate Degree cannot be from Columbia College. In order to be eligible for the grant, students cannot attend any other college other than the associate degree-granting college after earning the degree. The Associate Degree Transfer Grant is renewable for six consecutive semesters (including summer). Complete and submit an application for institutional aid. Students must maintain good academic standing, according to established institutional policy, to be eligible for the grant and to renew it for future years.  

CCAA Lifelong Learning Grant (formerly Warranted Degree)

One free course Awarded to students who've completed the highest Columbia College undergraduate degree available at the time of graduation. For graduates of Christian Female College, this would be the associate degree and for graduates of Columbia College it is the bachelor's degree. Eligible students may enroll in one course, free of charge, if five years have elapsed since receiving their degree, they owe no fees, and they are not in default on federal loans. Students may enroll for credit or as auditors in courses being offered during the regularly scheduled semesters or sessions, provided space is available and course pre-requisites are met. Students are required to pay lab fees and for textbooks associated with the courses. Students are permitted to enroll in one free course in each subsequent five-year period but may not accumulate free courses. The CCAA Lifelong Learning Grant cannot be used for graduate-level courses or any online courses. The student must be admitted to Columbia College. (Apply for admission)
After they are admitted, they must complete and submit an application for institutional aid.
 
CCAA Scholars Program $1,000 Awarded to a full time, degree seeking student who has completed at least 24 Columbia College credit hours and has a cumulative GPA of 2.75. Complete and submit the CCAA Scholars Program scholarship application. Please see the CCAA Scholars Program page for more information and scholarship deadlines. Recipients will be selected in April and will be awarded for the upcoming academic year.  
Coast Guard Spouse Grant 50% tuition grant for in-seat or online undergraduate courses.  
  • Student will receive a 50% tuition grant at Columbia College.
  • Available to spouses of active duty Coast Guard and Coast Guard Reserve members with a pay grade of E1-E5, CW02, and 01-02.
  • Student must be in an associate degree program (excluding the Associate of General Studies degree program). Students who first used grant in October 2011 or prior to October 2011 may be degree seeking in a bachelor degree program.
  • Maximum lifetime amount is limited to $4,000; cap of $2,000 per academic year.
  • Renewable for maximum of three years after grant first used. Students who first used grant in October 2011 or prior to October 2011 cannot use grant beyond December 31, 2015.
Complete and submit a Coast Guard Spouse Grant Form. A new application must be completed each academic year. Online campus students must also submit the Military Status Form.  
Col. Charles E. McGee Scholarship $1000 Competitive Award available to a military veteran who is degree-seeking with a 2.5 GPA. Complete and submit a Col. McGee Scholarship Application along with essay and references. The application deadline is early in each calendar year for awards starting in August. The deadline for submission, eligibility requirements and the application can be found here. Award split between August, October, January and March sessions in academic year.
Col. Mike Randerson Scholarship $1000 Competitive Award available to a military veteran and/or their dependents. Complete and submit a Col. Mike Randerson Scholarship Application along with essay and 2 letters of recommendation.  
eScholarship $1,000 The eScholarship is a one-time award designed to reward outstanding achievement in online study at Columbia College. The award will be for the upcoming academic year to undergraduate students who, in addition to meeting the minimum criteria, demonstrate a history of academic excellence and personal growth as a result of taking online courses with Columbia College.  At the time of application, the student must meet the following criteria:
  • Have successfully completed at least three online courses during the current academic year.
  • Have at least 21 hours of coursework with Columbia College (in-seat or online). 
  • Be a degree-seeking, undergraduate student working on 1st baccalaureate (bachelors) degree.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 with Columbia College.
Nationwide Campus students should contact your local campus for an eScholarship application.  Completed applications and short answer form must be returned to your local campus. We accept applications June 1st to August 5th.  
Frank Westling Scholarship $750
  • Degree seeking students with a minimum Columbia College GPA of 3.0.
  • 15 hours of residency credit with Columbia College.
Selected by campus representatives, from their own students.  Complete the Westling scholarship application. Applications are due February 5th.  
Military Family Member's Opportunity Grant Amount is tuition for one in-seat course. To be eligible the student must be the spouse of an military members currently serving on active duty or of members of the Guard and Reserves. The discount does not apply to online coursework, nor does it apply to students whose tuition is covered under tuition assistance programs other than the MyCAA program. This grant cannot be used in conjunction with the two-in-family grant. Student must submit the grant application before registering. Submit a Military Spouse Tuition Grant Form. Student must also show military dependent identification card at campus for verification of status. First session of attendance at Columbia College; not awarded retroactively.
Military Spouse Tuition Grant 20% tuition discount for undergraduate in-seat classes To be eligible the student must be the spouse of an military members currently serving on active duty or of members of the Guard and Reserves. The discount does not apply to online coursework, nor does it apply to students whose tuition is covered under tuition assistance programs other than the MyCAA program. This grant cannot be used in conjunction with the two-in-family grant. Student must submit the grant application before registering. Submit a Military Spouse Tuition Grant Form. Missouri Community Action Network (CAN) Grant 10% tuition discount  
  • Student must be a Missouri CAN individual member (employed at a local Community Action Agency).
  • Student must submit the Missouri CAN Grant Application form and a copy of their Missouri CAN membership card annually in order to receive the grant.  Proof of eligibility can also be determined by having a Missouri CAN representative send an email (with the subject line Missouri CAN Grant Eligibility) to financialaid@ccis.edu confirming active membership.

Missouri State Teachers Association Grant 10% tuition discount for MSTA members
  • Student must have a paid membership to the Missouri State Teachers Association. Student MSTA memberships will not be accepted.
  • Student must submit the MSTA Grant Application Form and a copy of their MSTA membership card annually in order to receive the MSTA Grant.
  • The MSTA Grant can be applied to in-seat or online graduate coursework and is not available for post-baccalaureate or undergraduate coursework.
Complete and submit an Application form. Membership through the MO teachers association is required.  
Senior Citizen Award 50% tuition reduction Awarded to students 65 years of age or older. Students are required to pay all other charges in connection with enrollment, coursework and graduation. Not available for online classes or graduate classes. New application must be completed each academic year. Complete and submit an application for institutional aid.  
Spouse's Opportunity Grant Amount is tuition for one in-seat or one online course. Awarded to spouse of military members currently serving on active duty or in the Guard and Reserves. Student must be seeking first undergraduate degree and be enrolled in first course at Columbia College. Student must also complete Military Grant Application and Military Status Form before registering. Submit Military Grant Application and Military Status Form. Student must also show military identification card at campus for verification of status. First session of attendance at Columbia College; not awarded retroactively.
Two-in-Family Grant 5% of tuition Available to undergraduate students who have completed an Associate Degree within the past 12 months. The degree must consist of 60 credit hours or its equivalent. Utah Peace Officer’s Grant 100% tuition grant for the first undergraduate course (in seat or online)taken at Columbia College for current UPOA members and their spouses
  • Available to current Utah Peace Officers Association members and their spouses.
  • Student must be admitted as a degree-seeking student to Columbia College.
  • Student must be taking first undergraduate course at Columbia College.

NWS Charleston Scholarship $800
  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a Columbia College degree at NWS Charleston campus
  • Earned a 3.0 cumulative GPA with Columbia College
  • Submit a one-page essay of needs (financial or other) and goals (academic and/or career)

Coast Guard Island, CA

Crystal Lake, IL

Ignacio Arias Memorial Scholarship The amount and number of scholarships vary. No less than the cost of one in-seat course. Student must be degree seeking, have completed 12 semester hours with Columbia College, have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, and have a demonstrated love of learning. Please contact your local campus for information regarding how to apply. Awarded in December to be used for the remainder of the academic year.

Denver, CO

Stephen Jamison Scholarship Amount varies. No less that the cost of one in-seat course.
  • Full time, degree seeking student
  • Involved in local community activities
  • Written statement of community service and current and future goals
  • Applicant preferred to have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher while at Columbia College

  • Applicant must be a current degree seeking student of the Denver Campus
  • Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher

  • Applicant must be involved in local community activities and provide a statement relative to their involvement.

Master Sergeant Evander Andrews Memorial Scholarship Contact the Fort Leonard location for the currently scheduled amount of award. Honoring United States Air Force Master Sergeant Evander Earl Andrews who was the first serve member to die in Operation Enduring Freedom.
