International Transcripts

Columbia College requires that all students have original, official transcripts sent for evaluation. The Evaluations Department cannot complete the evaluation of transfer credits prior to the receipt of the original, official transcripts. Education reports completed by evaluation service agencies will not substitute for an official transcript, and are not used as part of the evaluation process. They may, however, substitute for an English translation of the transcripts.

If it is necessary for a student to bring in their transcripts, the transcripts will need to be in a sealed envelope from the institution. Columbia College staff will open the envelope, sign and date it, and forward the transcript and envelopes to the Evaluations Department.

Intact envelopes are required with all transcript submissions. The Evaluations Department will keep both the original, official transcripts and the envelopes. These will not be returned to students.

All transcripts must be translated to English by a translation agency in order for an evaluation to be completed. For your convenience, there are some agencies listed below. It is not required that a translation be completed by one of these agencies; there are many available. Translations cannot be completed by students, friends, or family members. Translations have to be completed by a translation agency.
