Queers and Allies
The mission of this group is to provide safety and confidentiality to students:
- who are struggling who identity as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or questioning
- who are experiencing harassment because of their (actual or perceived) sexual orientation or gender identity or expression
- who are straight ally youth
The group provides a sense of community and a space for LGBTQ+ and straight allies to build a social network where their identity is respected. We're building a community at school and lessening the isolation that LGBTQ+ students might otherwise experience. We also work to educate the broader school community about sexual orientation and gender identity issues.
