Residence Hall Association (RHA)

The Residence Hall Association (RHA) of Columbia College serves as a student-led organization that gathers the voices of residents on campus. The group advocates for dining and hall facility improvements and enhances the living experience of the residents. 

RHA meets 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. every Thursday during the academic semesters in Williams Hall Room 102. On-campus students are invited to attend the meetings.

Positions on the Executive Board open up every year. Applications for RHA positions will be available in fall 2020.

Position Descriptions:

President

  • Presides over all RHA meetings.
  • Effectively maintains contact and relations with other student organizations and relevant college staff members. 
  • Performs any other duties assigned by Executive Board or suggested by the Advisor. 
  • Meets with Advisor weekly to discuss RHA meeting agendas, evaluate group dynamics and assess the direction of the student organization.

Vice President

  • Performs duties of the President in his or her absence.
  • Attends all RHA meetings.
  • Acts as spokesperson if the President is unavailable. 
  • Meets with Advisor as needed to discuss pertinent agenda items, evaluate group dynamics and assess the direction of the organization. 

Secretary 

  • Maintains accurate minutes, membership records and files for the organization.
  • Manages RHA Instagram account and other administrative tasks. 
  • Oversees the enforcement of policies and procedures of RHA.
  • Meets with Advisor as needed to discuss pertinent agenda items, evaluate group dynamics and assess the direction of the organization. 

Treasurer 

  • Manages RHA budget and keep track of all spending. 
  • Documents all spending in Excel spreadsheet, to be shared with Executive Board.
  • Ensures that all receipts are turned in to the Advisor for appropriate archiving.
  • Meets with Advisor as needed to discuss pertinent agenda items, evaluate group dynamics, and assess the direction of the organization. 

SGA Representative 

  • Attends all RHA and SGA meetings.
  • Actively represents the needs and concerns, as defined collectively by the RHA Executive Board.
  • Communicates appropriately and effectively. 
  • Meets with Advisor as needed to discuss pertinent agenda items, evaluate group dynamics and assess the direction of the organization.
