Spring new and transfer student orientation & registration

Mark your calendar for Sunday, January 8, 2017.

Check-in begins at 3:00pm. Event runs from 3:30-5:00 p.m. in Dorsey Gym, Dorsey Hall

College is YOUR time to shine, so why not make the most of it? New Student Orientation is an opportunity to participate in your first collegiate tradition, get connected to Columbia College campus resources and explore opportunities to help you succeed as a student.  This event has it all: traditions, friendly and helpful students and staff, and an introduction to a wealth of campus resources.

What can new students and their families expect?

Residential student move-in: New students living on campus can move in to their residence halls beginning at noon on January 7th, 2017, or choose to arrive the morning of Orientation. 

Columbia College rite of passage: New and transfer students participate in their first campus tradition. Campus Administration and current students welcome you into our supportive campus community at the New Student Pinning Ceremony.

Learn the secrets to success at Columbia College: Explore critical tips for a successful transition.

Pick up necessities and get to know campus resources Pick up your student ID, parking permit (please be prepared with your license plate number and a debit or credit card), campus mailbox, and explore the campus.

Orientation schedule

Sunday, January 8th, 2017, 3:30-5pm, Dorsey Gym

8:00 a.m. – Residence halls open for new student move-in and remain open for the day.

3:00 p.m. – Check-in begins in Dorsey Gym. Please arrive before 3:30 p.m.

3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Pick up necessities

4:00 p.m to 5:00pm - Orientation and the Traditional New Student Pinning Ceremony in Dorsey Gym. Students are welcome to invite parents, spouse or one guest to attend the event.

5:00pm - Campus tour (optional) provided by a student leader
