What do you do in that position?

Provide financial aid advisement and support to students.

How is that experience?

The experience as a client services coordinator is rewarding, knowing that I am helping mainly non-traditional students make life-changing decisions.

What have you learned?

Advising students about financial aid can be tricky, simply because it is vital that the information I provide to students is correct. Because the financial decisions students make now may affect them down the road, it is essential that I make sure the students fully understand the information I am giving them. This is a job that requires a vast amount of knowledge, as well as patience both for myself as I gain that knowledge, and for the students I help as they make big decisions.

What Grossnickle Career Services Center resources did you utilize?

I used the Grossnickle Career Services Center for nearly six consecutive months before I graduated. I attended some of the workshops, etiquette dinners, and of course, I had one-on-one counseling with staff members to improve my resume and cover letter.

What would you tell other students about your experience with the Grossnickle Career Services Center?

The Grossnickle Career Services Center is a place filled with dedicated professionals who value the students that seek their assistance. It doesn’t matter if you’re a walk-in student, have a scheduled appointment, or call the office; you will always be greeted with a smile and a friendly attitude. The staff is extremely knowledgeable in what employers and other higher education institutions are looking for, so you can feel safe in knowing you will receive the best service and knowledge available to ensure your academic and employment success.
