Columbia College business students earn top awards at statewide competitionFriday, March 27, 2009
Participants included Wayne Boykin II, a sophomore speech communication and marketing major; David Lesevoy, a senior marketing major; Logan Muehlman, a senior finance and management major; Trang Nguyen, a freshman finance and marketing major; Kayla Prewitt, a senior finance, management and marketing major; and Ton Trieu, a freshman pre-engineering major.
The students won the following awards:
Kayla Prewitt- 1st Place; scored the highest of all participants in the comprehensive marketing test
- Placed 2nd in Fashion Merchandise
- Placed 3rd in Financial Services
- Placed 4th in Financial Services
- Placed 5th in Retail Management
- Placed 1st in International Marketing
- Earned Certificate of Proficiency in Financial Services
- Placed 1st in International Marketing
- Earned Certificate of Proficiency in Marketing Management
- Earned Certificate of Proficiency in Sports Management
- Earned Certificate of Proficiency in Marketing Management
Because of their achievements, all six students qualified to compete in the national competition this April in California.
