Friday, November 21, 2008

(COLUMBIA, Mo.) -- Columbia College will kick off the holiday season with its annual holiday lighting ceremony at 4:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5 in Bass Commons. Bass Commons is the lawn in front of St. Clair Hall on the corner of 10th and Rogers streets. More than 4,500 white lights will illuminate the exterior of the Columbia College campus throughout the holiday season. The ceremony is free and open to the public.

A reception for Columbia College students, faculty, staff and their guests will follow the lighting ceremony, beginning at 5 p.m. in Dulany Hall. Santa will be available during this time for photos.

At 6:30 p.m., the community is invited to attend "Peace," a holiday CD release concert by the Jane Froman Singers and Double Sextet in Launer Auditorium. A $5 donation is requested. Attendees who purchase a CD will be entered into a drawing to win a March 2009 trip to Austria with the Jane Froman Singers.
