Columbia College in St. Louis, MO seeks adjunct instructors to teach Cultures Courses. Will teach evening adult centered courses starting as early as 5p.m. and ending as late as 10:15p.m. two to four nights a week, for eight week sessions(40 contact hours in 8 weeks). For the Cultures Courses, the incumbent must be able to show "immersion" in the culture. Possible Culture topics are: African Culture, Latin American Culture, Italian Culture South Asian Culture, French Cultures and Middle Eastern Culture.
Adjunct approval and course offering by the March Session. The March Session starts March 21, 2011 and ends May 30, 2011.
Qualifications:
Incumbent must be able to sufficiently use technology, order his/her own text book(free of charge as a faculty member), create an electronic syllabus, meet deadlines given by Assistant Director and Director and deliver a quality education to Columbia College-St. Louis students. Incumbent must have an earned Master's Degree in the field or closely related field with documented coursework on their transcript that is specific to the topic. A combination of teaching experience and practical professional experience is preferred.
Scanned copy of Masters' Level transcripts are required, however Official Transcripts are required if we pursue final Adjunct approval.
