Columbia College will confer degrees upon graduates at the Patrick Air Force Base campus commencement ceremony on Saturday, July 17. The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. at the Tides Club, 1001 N. Highway A1A, Patrick Air Force Base, Fla.
Dr. Gerald Brouder, president of Columbia College, will give the commencement address and confer the degrees with the assistance of Dr. Gary Massey, dean for Adult Higher Education for Columbia College. Retired Sgt. Maj. Michael David, Columbia College Alumni Association Board of Directors, will provide the alumni charge.
"Graduation is the culmination of students' efforts to improve their lives through education," said Brouder. "We are proud to honor their accomplishments."
Columbia College, a private, nonprofit institution, was founded in Missouri in 1851 as Christian Female College, the first women's college west of the Mississippi River to be chartered by a state legislature. The college changed its name to Columbia College in 1970 when it became coeducational.
Columbia College-Patrick Air Force Base was established in 1999 to be an integral part of Patrick Air Force Base 45th Mission Support Group's Higher Education plan.
The campus is part of the college's extended network of more than 30 Nationwide Campuses across the country.
