CC achieves national ranking

For the first time in the school's history, Columbia College ranks in the top tier of Midwestern Comprehensive Colleges-Bachelor's Degree in U.S. News & World Report annual rankings.

According to U.S. News & World Report, Comprehensive Colleges are "institutions which focus on undergraduate education and offer a range of degree programs in the liberal arts, which account for fewer than half of their bachelor's degree, and in professional fields such as business, nursing and education." More than 300 comprehensive colleges ranked within four regions: Midwest, North, South and East.

To determine "Best Colleges" rankings, the magazine's editors and researchers examine academic reputation, faculty resources, retention rate, class size, student selectivity, financial resources, graduation rate, student-faculty ratio and percent of alumni giving.

Columbia College was one of only four Missouri colleges to be ranked in the top tier of Midwestern Comprehensive Colleges-Bachelor's Degrees.
