Columbia College names Fischer as executive director of Human Resources

COLUMBIA, Mo., May 28 - Columbia College is pleased to announce Patty Fischer has been promoted to the position of executive director of Human Resources. Fischer currently serves as the director of Human Resources at the college. In her new role, Fischer will sit on the college’s administrative council, helping guide strategic decision making regarding HR related matters.

“I believe it’s of vital importance that HR is represented at this level of our organization,” said Scott Dalrymple, president of Columbia College. “Talent is one of the most important things for an organization, so having human resources at the table is the right thing to do for the college.”

Fischer, who has 16 years of experience in human resources, will begin her position immediately.

“I’m honored to have the opportunity to serve as a member of the college’s administrative council,” said Fischer. “I look forward to working with my colleagues to improve all aspects of our great institution.”

Fischer has worked for the college since 2006. In addition to her duties as director of Human Resources, Fischer serves as an adjunct instructor in the college’s Day, Evening and Online programs. Prior to her work at Columbia College, Fischer spent eight years at William Woods University, serving as the director of Human Resources, Benefit Services and Student Employment, assistant to the vice president of Financial Services and as an adjunct instructor. Fischer holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in business administration from William Woods University. She also is a Certified Professional in Human Resource Management.
