(COLUMBIA, Mo.) -- Columbia College is pleased to announce that Lana Poole has been named executive director of marketing. In her new position and as an officer of Columbia College, Poole will be responsible for all aspects of the marketing department and will be a member of the administrative council.
Poole, who holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational communications from Missouri State University and a master’s in public administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia, has 25 years of experience in administration, public relations and marketing. She was formerly associate director of marketing for Columbia College where she served as departmental liaison to the college president and directed marketing strategies that helped grow the nationwide enrollment of the campus by seven percent.
Prior to joining Columbia College in 2007, Poole served as executive director of First Chance for Children where she directed regional early-learning initiatives to increase the number of children who enter school ready to succeed. Poole also has worked for the University of Missouri Health Sciences Center, the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center and the Missouri Division of Highway Safety. She was named professional of the year by the Association for the Education of Young Children in 2006 and is a member of the American Marketing Association.
Poole said she looks forward to developing a marketing plan that will take Columbia College to the next level.
