(Park City, IL) - Columbia College of Missouri-Lake County and College of Lake County recently signed a transfer agreement that will make it easier for associate-degree students at College of Lake County to transfer to Columbia College for their bachelor's degree.
The agreement will provide important information about Columbia College to advisors and counselors at College of Lake County so they can better counsel students on what classes will transfer and count toward their bachelor's degree. The same information also will be publicized in College of Lake County literature.
"This transfer agreement is an important step in ensuring College of Lake County students are ready to earn their bachelor's degree at Columbia College," said Steve Stephany, director of Columbia College-Lake County. "It will optimize a student's readiness for upper-level classes at Columbia College and give them the confidence to succeed in their chosen degree program." Columbia College-Lake County offers on-campus and online bachelor's degrees in business administration, criminal justice administration, history, psychology and computer information systems, plus more than 300 online classes and nine online degrees. Classes meet in convenient eight-week sessions one or two nights a week or on Saturdays.
Columbia College-Lake County was founded in 1972 at Ft. Sheridan Army Base and moved to Park City in 1998. It is part of Columbia College's network of 30 nationwide campuses. Columbia College, founded in Columbia, Mo., in 1851, serves a total of 20,000 students each year at its Day Campus, Evening Campus, Online Campus, Graduate Studies Program and Nationwide Campuses.
