Building character through sports

Columbia College has been named an NAIA Champions of Character Institution for 2003-04. The college is among 188 colleges and universities around the country who have received the designation for the year.

As a Champions of Character institution, the college participates in various community projects throughout the year such as athletic workshops with students at Eugene Field Elementary School in Columbia, Mo., the institution's partner in education.

The NAIA Champions of Character program emphasizes respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship. Columbia College has been an NAIA Champions of Character Institution since the program's inception in 2000.
