About Elgin campus
Columbia College of Missouri-Elgin was established in 1997 on the campus of Elgin Community College (ECC). The campus offers high-tech classrooms, qualified academic advisors and faculty, the ECC library and computer labs, and high-speed, online access to library resources.
The Freeport campus provides a unique educational opportunity to working adults through its degree offerings and eight-week course format. As part of a network of campuses across the country and a robust online program, the college offers convenient courses to civilians as well as military adult learners.
Columbia College of Missouri-Elgin has an agreement with Elgin Community College, which allows students a seamless transition from an associate degree through a bachelor’s degree, and beyond, at Columbia College.
Established in 1997, Columbia College-Elgin soon entered into an articulation agreement with Elgin Community College. Today, it is located on the Elgin Community College campus and continues to serve adult learners in Elgin and surrounding areas.

In Elgin, Ill., you're not far from taking a ride on an old steam engine, sliding down a grand water slide, gambling the night away, visiting the Old West or shopping till you drop!
Located in Chicagoland's Northern Fox River Valley, the area boasts fine dining, symphonic pleasure, family festivals and historic museums. Elgin is home to the Elgin Enrichment Lecture Series, the Elgin Fire Barn with antique fire engines, the paved, 36-mile Fox River Bike Trail and the Grand Victoria Casino that was awarded Best Casino three years in a row.
Lord's Park Pavilion, which is home to the Elgin Public Museum, a petting zoo and the new family aquatic center, as well as State Street Market with its quaint shops, are also must-sees in Elgin.
