Community Information

We know there's more to life than studying. When you're ready to take a break from the books, you'll find plenty of recreational, cultural and sports opportunities in Jefferson City.

The capital of Missouri, Jefferson City boasts a population of approximately 40,000 people. The town, originally established in 1821, was named after Thomas Jefferson. Many of the early settlers were friends of his and had lived near him at Monticello.

Located on the banks of the Missouri River in the center of the state, it is home to the All Missouri Veterans Memorial on the northeast corner of the capital grounds. It also features the Cole County Historical Museum and the Harry S. Truman State Office Building.
