Columbia College–Everett - Marysville served the greater Puget Sound region at the Naval Station Seattle at Sand Point from 1975-1994 and has served active duty military, their dependents and the public with courses taught at Naval Station Everett and the Navy Support Complex at Smokey Point, Marysville since 1995.
Columbia College-Naval Station Everett and Marysville are part of Columbia College's network of nationwide campuses. The first extended campus was founded in St. Louis in 1973 after an Army education services officer was interested in providing courses to Army recruiters in the area.
Today, the Division of Adult Higher Education at Columbia College includes 30 campuses, including one in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. About half of Columbia College's nationwide campuses are on military bases. The Online Campus at Columbia College also serves students in area.
Columbia College-NS Everett - Marysville is part of the college's extended network of more than 30 Nationwide Campuses across the country, including 18 on military bases.
Degree programs at the extended campuses vary. However, no matter which degree you pursue or which campus you attend, degree programs meet the same accreditation standards as degree programs from the main campus in Columbia, Mo., as well as meet requirements set by the respective state education departments.Columbia College was founded in 1851 in Columbia, Mo., as Christian Female College, the first women's college west of the Mississippi River to be chartered by state legislature. In 1970, the college was renamed Columbia College when it opened its doors to men and women. In 1973, the college began educating adult learners. Today, the college serves nearly 25,000 students nationwide each year.
