Columbia College opens campus at Naval Weapon Station Charleston
(COLUMBIA, Mo.) - Columbia College entered into a partnership with the U.S. Navy in May to open a new campus at Naval Weapon Station Charleston in South Carolina. The addition of the NWS Charleston campus brings the total number of Columbia College campuses to 34, of which 17 are located on military installations.
The campus offers bachelor's degrees in criminal justice administration, business administration, management information systems and general studies. Students can also complete an on-campus Master of Business Administration degree at NWS Charleston. Classes on-base will be available to military personnel (active and reserve) and family members; retired military and their families; and Department of Defense contract and/or civilian employees. Registration is currently underway for the fall semester, which begins Aug. 11, 2008.
"We're excited to provide a terrific educational opportunity to service members at the weapons station," said Keith McIver, NWS Charleston campus director. "If you did not know Columbia was on base, you know now. We look forward to helping you reach your goals."
Columbia College offers an accelerated program that features small classes, experienced faculty and academic excellence. Students may take eight-week classes, five sessions a year starting in August, October, January, March and June.
