Living at Columbia College
Living on campus can be one of the most rewarding experiences you will have while being a student at Columbia College. Only minutes from your classes, living on campus gives you the opportunity to experience campus life and be surrounded by your fellow students. You will have the chance to make life-long friends, get involved on campus, and have easy access to all campus resources. In addition, campus is in a perfect location to experience the best of downtown Columbia.
Most full-time Day Campus international students who have completed fewer than 52 semester hours and are under the age of 22 are required to live on campus. For more information on on-campus living requirements, please refer to the housing policy.
The core that supports your experiences at Columbia College will be your involvement in the Residence Halls. Whether it is hanging outside on the lawn playing sports with your floor mates or having a late night study session in the lounges, your on campus life will center on the Residence Halls. In the residence halls you will also find support from your resident assistant and area coordinator. These staff and student workers are here to ensure you have a great time in the halls, but are also available to listen to your struggles and provide support when you feel it is needed.
- Dulany Hall
- To make sure your meals are covered, Columbia College requires all students living in the Residence Halls to sign up for a meal plan through Dulany Hall. Like living in the residence hall, eating your meals with your class and dorm mates is another way to build lasting friendships and find ways to get involved on and off campus. In addition, you’ll often see campus faculty and staff dining here during lunch, giving you one more opportunity to get to know the people on campus here to support and educate you!
- Cougar Cafe
- If you are not in the mood to eat in Dulany Hall, or just running a little late one day and cannot make it in time to get lunch, the Cougar Café, located in Atkins-Holman Student Commons, is another on-campus dining opportunity. Cougar Café offers bakery items and fruit for breakfast; sandwiches, salads, and hot dogs during the day and evening; and specialty coffee drinks all day long! With your meal plan, you are also eligible to participate in the Value Exchange program during hours the Dulany Hall is closed.
