Career counseling

Individual career counseling

Career planning often is a challenging process that can be complicated by many factors, such as expectations of others, lack of self-confidence and labor market conditions. A counselor is available by appointment to help you in such areas as:

  • Choosing or changing your career direction
  • Understanding the relationship between choice of major and career plans
  • Assessing abilities, interests and priorities
  • Locating sources of career information
  • Learning about graduate school options and the admissions process
  • Mastering job search techniques
  • Developing interview skills
  • Any related concerns, such as making the transition from college to work or coping with parental or financial pressures

To schedule an appointment with a counselor, call 573-875-7425, email or drop by the Grossnickle Career Services Center between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays. We do make telephone appointments to reach out to our students and alumni in other locations.
